The Groundwater Protection Education Committee was formed in the fall of 1994 in order to combine the efforts of local agencies in promoting our valuable resource: Groundwater.

What We DoThe Committee meets monthly to discuss current groundwater concerns and how to best serve the interests of McDonough County. Through efforts of the Committee, McDonough County has been designated as a Groundwater Guardian Community by the Groundwater Foundation for the years 1996-2002. The Groundwater Foundation is a non-profit educational organization that informs and motivates people to care about groundwater.
